Advocate Manager - Full Time, Hybrid

General Description:

The Advocate Manager provides training, supervision and support to CASA advocates ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and proactive permanency planning. The Advocate Manager is responsible for advocate supervision and coordination of cases.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing supervision to advocates, including helping to develop initial case plans

  • Contact each advocate monthly and maintain appropriate levels of support

  • Research and prepare case files and work in team setting to assign case files to advocates

  • Organize and maintain case files in Optima

  • Maintain working knowledge of active case assignments

  • Review, edit, and file, advocate reports to the court

  • Attend court and other meetings when advocate is not present

  • Maintain calendar of court dates

  • Assist with interviewing potential advocates and advocate training

  • Update case information in database and provide statistics concerning case or advocate data

  • Perform annual evaluations of all assigned advocates according to an assigned timeline

  • Assist with planning and coordination of monthly in-service events

  • Assist in planning and implementing advocate recognition events

  • Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars which enhance ability to fulfill his/her responsibilities

  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Program Director

Qualifications

The Advocate Manager should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social-service related field or equivalent education and experience

  • Exceptional capacity to communicate with, supervise, and empower volunteers to be effective

  • Proven ability to work as a team player and interact positively with volunteers and staff

  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills

  • Demonstrates maturity and responsibility in handling confidential information

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect

  • Completion of CASA of McHenry County’s training program within 6 months of hire

  • Commitment to CASA of McHenry County’s goals and mission

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional experience with other software a plus

Administrative Assistant - Part Time

General Description:
The Administrative Assistant supports day-to-day program operations. Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting recruitment, training, continuing education, appreciation, and overall support of CASA’s volunteer advocates. The person in this role will assist in communication with advocates, record and update court reports, as well as supporting the everyday operations of the office. Good communication, collaboration, and customer service skills are essential to this position.

 

Responsibilities- Program

  • Assist with the support and appreciation of volunteers, including volunteer appreciation events

  • Collaborate with and support Advocate Engagement Manager in regards to continuing education and training, including the activities to support with planning, implementation and follow-up

  • Enter and keep accurate records of court reports, background checks, and other documentation as assigned

  • Welcome advocates and other visitors to the program space

  • Assist with all aspects of program management including equipment inventory and storage

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Responsibilities – General Office Support

  • Retrieve and pass out mail

  • Provide primary telephone and reception support

  • Monitor and respond to general emails info@casamchenrycounty.org

  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies and keep reception area in order

  • Assist with filing, copying, scanning, etc.

  • Oversee maintenance of office equipment, copier, printers, postage machine

  • Assist with compliance documentation for National and Illinois CASA

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and passion for the CASA mission

  • Strong work ethic with the capacity to work independently

  • Ability to problem-solve and use critical thinking

  • Proven capacity to work in a collaborative team environment

  • Proficient typing

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times utilizing a customer service mentality

  • Demonstrates maturity and responsibility in maintaining confidentiality of case-related materials
